Day #4 Jim's Sole/Soul Journey

On Monday, we had a chance to assist Juan and his family with some desperately needed home repairs. The church in Cocrisur assisted the family with the cost of building materials for repairing their leaking roof. Our team assisted with the labor.

We cleaned and sealed the roof. We mixed a couple batches of concrete in the street and then hauled it up to the roof in five gallon buckets. We helped to clean up the back patio area and to do some pruning in the front garden area. And we made some repairs to doorways within the home.

But to focus on our efforts would be a mistake, because we were witnesses to the hand of God. Let me explain. It's rainy season in Mexico City. The forecast had been calling for rain. At one point in the day, we thought that we wouldn't attempt to do the concrete until Tuesday because of the threat of rain.

And so we prayed.

And people back home prayed.

And God answered!

The grey clouds gave way to beautiful blue skies. I stared at the sky in amazement that afternoon, unable to keep from smiling. Dios es más grande que nuestros problemas!

In Matthew 8:27, after witnessing Jesus calm a storm, the disciples asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

You want to know about my God? He is our Protector. He is our Provider. He is Powerful. He is worthy of our Praise!
