We didn't know what to expect on Thursday. One of the ladies from the church took us downtown to take a tour bus around the city. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the trip very much.
But God had additional plans in store for our day. We met a guy named Gilad early in the day. He was from Israel and was on a long journey to see the world. He ended up spending the majority of the day with us. We got to discuss faith and why God had us in Mexico. He will be visiting the United States at some point. We hope God allows us to cross paths with him again.
In the evening we met with a group of college-aged youth and young professionals. We had a good conversation about modern idols. We talked about a passage from Joshua about choosing to follow the Lord each day and not being misled by the beliefs of our culture or of our families. The group was very engaged and shared personal stories of how they had chosen to follow God.
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." - Joshua 24:15
We all have a choice. What will you choose?
