The Bread of Life (Saturday)

Breaking bread together. That’s where it’s at. I absolutely love mealtime with my new friends, not just because I love love love spicy Mexican food, but because it is a time for many to gather for one reason and out of it comes friendships, stories, heart to heart moments, and so much laughter.  Maybe that is why in John 6 Jesus refers to himself as “the bread of Life.”  He is what binds us together, and when we internalize Him life gets better.

Today, Saturday, was our final day here at camp, but before we departed in the evening we saw & experienced some very special moments together.  Everywhere you looked today you saw one of our “jovenes” (youth) meeting, praying, crying, or laughing with their mentors. It was such a beautiful thing to take in; God is transforming these young hearts right before our eyes! We also had the opportunity to honor and pray for the incredible leaders who sacrifice, love, and encourage these kids daily.

I’ll leave you with a Spanish tongue twister for anyone who is interested in tryin it out, it’s just one of many little bunny trails that we’ve ventured down during lunch...Tres tristes tigres traigan trigo en una trigal. What a workout for your tongue. ¡Chao!
