First Day at Camp El Refugio Secreto

Today we started with a great breakfast of scrambled eggs and refried beans.  The food has been awesome.  For our morning activity we worked with the youth making parachord bracelets.  We were a little worried as a group on how well we'd be able to explain the process since we still struggled with making them.  The youth caught on quickly though, and no major problems were encountered.  This is how God has been working so far on the trip.  We've been able to overcome language barriers and cultural differences to build and manicure meaningful relationships.  This is definitely not by our own means of highly skilled communication practices, such as pointing and nodding, but by a two groups of people with a common purpose.  We had some free time to enjoy the pool, and had an intense game of kickball.  We ended the night with a sixties themed evening and Greg and Leah showed their gifts with Greg speaking about God's unchanging love and Leah translating.  Unfortunately we didn't get to see Greg's dance moves, maybe Saturday.
